The spines stay plain, with no titling to read.

Each volume measures roughly 7 to 10 inches wide, 1 inch deep and 5 to 7 inches high, with sizes varying across the set of 12. That range is the point: stack the larger ones flat under a lamp or an object, then stand the shorter ones upright between bookends where the spines can be read as a run of texture.

Shagreen belongs to the Art Deco vocabulary, which makes these an easy bridge between a traditional library and a more transitional living room.
