This particular piece features a highly sought-after, premium multi-color palette consisting of rich cobalt/slate blue, deep rust brown, chocolate brown, and cream. Early pieces showcasing these vivid, contrasting blue and red clays are heavily favored by collectors over standard monochromatic brown variants.
The vase features a beautifully complex, counter-clockwise marbleized exterior crafted from contrasting native Arkansas kaolin clays. True to early Niloak production methods, the exterior is completely unglazed and tactilely smooth with a rich matte finish, while the interior is finished with a clear high-gloss glaze allowing the vessel to safely hold water.
Remarkably, this piece retains a rare, intact original circular Niloak Pottery paper label affixed to the bottom, which provides an excellent historical marker of its authenticity and early 20th-century lineage.
Condition:
Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or visible repairs to the clay body. The exterior matte surface remains smooth See less
