The … Read more Vintage Home is pleased to present this gorgeous vintage Zuni Native American Squash Blossom Beaded Necklace from the 1960s. The beaded necklace has the traditional iconic features of handcrafted silversmith sterling silver desert pearls in a double strand and a large crescent pendant. The beaded necklace is 27” long with the pendant adding another 2.5”. The beads are 6.35 mm. The piece is considered an Old Pawn piece. It features Kingman Mine Turquoise. There are eight cluster blossoms with eight stones each. The naja pendant has 35 stones. All are handcrafted and the neck;Ace has a hook and eye closure. Squash Blossom necklaces first appeared in the late 1800s as Native Americans interacted with Spanish explorer silversmiths. They were originally worn at ceremonial events, weddings and during dancing. They represented tribal identity, status and artistry
