Livorno-born painter Renato Natali, a member of the Labronico group founded in 1920, painted primarily views and scenes of his city and its suburbs. He did not adhere to avant-garde movements, but drew inspiration from his stay in Paris for the atmosphere and subsequent color choices. He created his "Parisian palette" in Paris, which he himself described as consisting of just 12 colors. This work depicts a corner of the Livorno countryside at night, with a female figure waiting at the entrance to her home for the cart that will take her to work. The colors stand out, particularly the shades of blue that dominate throughout the scene. The work is presented in a frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
