Graceful scrolling contours, ornamental flourishes, and softly aged gilding give the piece a distinctly European character, recalling the decorative traditions of eighteenth-century French interiors.

The shaped frame creates a particularly attractive silhouette, with its elaborate upper crest balanced by delicate scrollwork along the lower corners. The warm gilt finish has developed a pleasing patina, lending depth and character to the carved ornamentation.

At just under 33 inches tall, this mirror is especially well suited to hanging above a small antique chest, in a powder room, or over a dressing table. Equally at home in an English country house bedroom or French provincial entryway, it introduces a lovely architectural element without overwhelming its surroundings.
