This cabinet is in very good overall condition with relatively little wear or damage acquired over its approximately 125 year history. While it is not labeled, it features several distinct characteristics, such as the two detailed below that confidently identify it as a piece by the National Ticket Case Company. There are some characteristics that identify it as such, and there are two examples below. Top to bottom details exterior and within: The top surface was worn, so it was sanded and then stained the same color as the rest of the cabinet. The two sides are in good shape with nothing beyond a few small dings. There is no damage, such as splitting or water deterioration, and they both present well. The vertical (patented) "C-curve" stiles on either side of the opening are good overall save for cracked laminate on the left side due to the pressure produced by the bend near the top. The roll-top door is very nice. There is some wear to the finish in areas, but on the whole it looks nice and is free of any damage, including the knob at the bottom. The door functions properly. It requires more effort to close it from fully opened, but at that point the weight of the entire door is hanging in the back, weighing it down. The rest of the movement is smooth and effortless. The backside and bottom of the unit show typical wear. The bottom has a divot on the right edge where there was once a knot; otherwise, all is in good shape. When we acquired this piece, the interior contained only one worn shelf. This original shelf has been sanded and stained. A second upper shelf was custom crafted using period accurate oak from the same era. The rest of the interior is very good overall. There is no damage or excessive wear to be found on the sides or back, and they look fine from top to bottom. The horizontal base section has two partial circle marks near the center. To the right, what appears to be wear is actually a natural imperfection in the wood grain. Please see the pictures for further details.

Identification . . .
Patented "C-Curve" Profile: This shallow-top, deep-bottom curved silhouette is a trademark form factor of National Ticket Case's desktop units. It was designed specifically to maximize narrow ticket booth counter space while letting the tambour door smoothly retract backwards over the internal framework.
Bottom Slat Pull-Knob: Instead of a flush metal pull or finger lip typical of home furniture, National Ticket Case models without integrated locking assemblies feature a simple, centered round wooden pull-knob built directly into the bottom-most slat of the tambour door.
