The artist works into a dark painted surface, incising the material to reveal underlying tones and create a compelling interplay between painting, drawing, and engraving.

A dense network of fine, intersecting lines emerges from the deep black background, punctuated by vivid red accents and a central white figure. The restrained palette and intricate textures give the composition a powerful visual presence, balancing expressive spontaneity with a carefully constructed sense of rhythm and depth.

Signed and titled on the reverse, the painting is presented in a gilded wooden frame with silver leaf and a subtle Mecca patina, adding warmth and contrast to its otherwise austere appearance.

An original example of Italian contemporary abstract art, Vecchio Calzino is particularly suited to contemporary interiors and collections focused on expressive painting, experimental surfaces, and distinctive material techniques.
