A large vintage Chinese ceramic planter featuring a rich cobalt blue glaze and a classically rounded profile. The substantial vessel is shaped with a broad body that swells gently beneath the shoulder before tapering toward a flat circular base. A wide projecting rim frames the generous opening and gives the otherwise restrained design a strong, finished silhouette. The glossy monochromatic glaze extends across the exterior, rim and interior, displaying subtle tonal variations that become especially visible as light moves across the curved surface.
Measuring 22 inches in diameter, the planter is large enough to accommodate a substantial indoor tree or grouping of plants, while its clean form also allows it to function as an architectural decorative vessel. No drainage hole is present, so a removable liner or nursery pot is recommended when used with live plants. A slightly smaller Chinese planter in a similar blue, but with a crackled glaze, is also available separately.
