The rectangular plank top features rounded molded edges and a warm brown finish that allows the natural character and irregularities of the wood to remain visible. Extending across the front and sides, the deep pierced apron combines vertical and curving elements with carved floral medallions and stylized Chinese longevity motifs.

Scrolling carved spandrels connect the apron to four tall, slender legs, lending the substantial table an airy architectural quality. Measuring more than six and a half feet in length yet only 15 inches deep, the table is particularly well suited for placement in a long entry hall, behind a sofa or against a dining-room wall. The clearance beneath the apron is approximately 24 inches.

With its restrained profile, expressive carving and beautifully aged surface, this antique Chinese console offers both a generous display area and strong decorative presence without projecting far into the room. See less
