The square top is centered by a dark stone panel, creating a subtle tonal contrast with the lighter surrounding border. Its generous surface and low proportions allow the piece to function particularly well as a coffee or cocktail table.

A molded waist gives the table visual depth, while the shaped apron is enlivened by understated cloud-like curves at the corners and along its lower edge. Four substantial legs descend in a gently curved profile before terminating in traditional hoof-form feet. The balance of crisp lines and softened carving is characteristic of classical Chinese furniture, while the rugged, weathered surface lends the table a distinctly rustic presence.

The exceptionally tactile wood, deep brown-black finish and quiet two-tone top would work beautifully in interiors ranging from traditional to contemporary. Substantial without appearing heavy, this is an unusually versatile table with both sculptural character and practical scale. See less
