Hand-worked using a repousse technique, where images are hammered from the verso, this shapely French copper plaque is an ode to staying faithful. Dating to the 1800s, the plaque depicts a tree-like coat of arms over a textured background. Beneath the trunk of the shield is a banner with root tendrils that reads Semper Fidelis, or “always faithful”.
