This is an elegant vintage French Régence and Louis XV style fauteuil armchair featuring an ornate carved giltwood frame with a distressed, crackled gold finish.
Beautifully detailed with Rococo shell motifs, scrolling acanthus foliage, cabriole legs, graceful serpentine aprons, and a decorative X-form stretcher. The generously proportioned seat and tall upholstered back feature textured brown and gold woven fabric.
A magnificent French Provincial statement chair with classic European Baroque and Hollywood Regency appeal. Solid and sturdy with minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age.
