The central bouquet is laid over a delicate engine-turned pattern and glazed in translucent sand-toned enamel, accented with scrolling gilt borders. On the reverse, the same warm champagne enamel covers the full expanse, showcasing the underlying guilloché ground without floral embellishment. A small cabochon thumbpiece in dark blue stone releases the spring catch to reveal a richly gilded interior. The lower section houses two separate compartments designed for pressed or loose powder, one slightly broader than the other, each secured beneath an individually hinged gilded flap with a neat thumb tab. Mounted opposite the powder wells is a rectangular vanity mirror set in an inner gilt frame. Uniquely constructed for dressing-table or portable vanity use, the mirror swings outward on a sturdy multi-joint hinge and is supported by a hinged triangular easel strut. This folding support terminates in an engraved trefoil clover finial, allowing the mirror to stand firmly upright at an angle during application. The case is fitted at one edge with twin soldered suspension loops and a sturdy silver curb chain, enabling it to be carried easily by hand or worn from the wrist. While bearing no hallmarks, the metal has been tested as high-grade silver, retaining a bright gilt finish across all inner surfaces.
