Designed to sit flush against a wall or skirting board, the piece functions as a decorative pier or hall table, featuring an angular front edge complemented by applied gilt-painted floral rosettes positioned centrally along the frieze and at the upper corner blocks. Below the main surface, two prominent ring-turned front legs descend towards square junction blocks decorated with matching gilded roundels, terminating in compact turned feet. A rear-swept angled stretcher joins the front supports to an integrated lower tier, which is framed by slender turned spindles and detailed with an open fretwork gallery, offering a secondary display platform for smaller ornaments. Crafted from hardwood with a polished dark stain, the table relies on its rear frame for balance and is constructed specifically to be secured directly to a wall. Its two-legged front stance means it cannot stand independently without wall anchoring, making it particularly well suited for narrow hallways, alcoves, or flanking a bed where floor clearance is at a premium. Produced probably in the late twentieth century in the Victorian revival manner, the table measures 69 cm in height, 68.5 cm in width, and 34 cm in depth.
