Constructed from fine interlacing strands of glazed white porcelain, the reticulated walls flare gently outward to an entwined rope-twist border enriched with hand-applied gilding along the braided rim. The ends of the basket are adorned with applied porcelain floral bouquets, modelled with layered petals in soft tones of rose pink, primrose yellow, and muted lavender, accompanied by curled green foliage. At the interior base, an oval glazed plaque features a hand-painted vertical floral spray depicting garden roses, blue blossoms, and yellow marigolds, bordered by a thin gilded hairline rim. Underneath, the basket rests upon four sturdy coiled scroll feet that elevate the pierced structure above the table surface. In terms of proportions, the centrepiece measures 31 cm long by 21.6 cm wide, with an overall height of 10.5 cm and a weight of approximately 390 grams. The underside of the base bears the green printed factory stamp reading 'LAHUERTA MANISES SPAIN'. Probably produced during the 1970s or 1980s, this centrepiece reflects the enduring Valencian tradition of reticulated porcelain, where ceramic ribbons were meticulously woven to emulate basketry. It remains well-suited for decorative display on a dining table, sideboard, or vitrine. See less
