Hand knotted and one of a kind, this wool rug is made from hand-spun, natural vegetable dyed wool, a blend of merino, New Zealand, and Ghazni wool. The tan of the field and the brown of the border come from vegetable dyes extracted from local plants, and beige pick out the smaller motifs. You may notice an abrash in the tan field, a soft shift in shade within a single color. It comes from hand-spun wool taking natural dye slightly differently from batch to batch, and it is one of the signs of a true handmade rug. Fine hand knotting keeps the small blossoms and curving vines crisp. The pile is trimmed to a moderate thickness, then stone-washed and sun-dried for a natural sheen across the full 10'3'' x 12'8''.
