Hand-knotted in all-natural dyed, hand-spun wool, this rug is one of a kind. It was then sun-faded for three to six months, harnessing the sun's natural energy to neutralize its original colors gently. Artisans then overdyed it in gray and washed it by hand, bringing out soft, layered tones that turn a classic rug into an original work of art. The dye takes differently on each shade of the original design, which is why the pattern shows through tone-on-tone instead of disappearing. You may notice lighter and deeper areas of gray across the surface. That layered, uneven color is the signature of an overdyed rug, and together with the hand-tied knots, it gives the rug its own personality.
