The top consists of a single slab of jura grey limestone that features stunning inclusions and blue-grey veining against a warm grey backdrop. The stone is in good condition with minimal surface scratches and etching, consistent with the desk’s age and continued use, and it has become nicely patinated and smooth with time. Housed in the apron is a single wide drawer that opens smoothly with a small brass knob. The top is supported by 4 turned walnut legs, which are shaped with rings and swells that offer welcome contrast to the rest of the desk’s geometric form. This desk would be perfect to use in an office, but its small proportions could also allow it to function as an occasional or side table in a living space, and its unique materials are sure to complement a range of decorating styles. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your home. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
