A floral motif decorates the top, while recessed side panels give the otherwise simple form additional depth and definition. The red surface has mellowed with age, developing variations in tone and sheen that remain visible across the box. The source dates the piece to the mid-20th century and identifies its style as Mid-Century Modern. No specific maker is supplied. The balance of color, restrained shape, and ornamental detail makes it suitable for display as well as decorative storage.

At 25 inches wide, the box has a substantial horizontal presence without a tall profile. It could be placed on a console, sideboard, or generous tabletop, where its red finish can provide a concentrated accent among wood tones or neutral furnishings. The top motif rewards closer inspection, and the recessed panels add interest when it is viewed from the side. A relatively uncluttered arrangement will allow those details and the aged lacquer to remain visible. The piece can also serve as a decorative container for suitable small belongings, subject to its interior space and the care appropriate to a vintage finish.

Offered individually, the box measures 25 inches wide, 12.26 inches deep, and 6 inches high. The source reports good vintage condition. The lacquer shows fading, minor surface scratches, and age-related wear. The top design remains discernible, with some dulling and small worn areas. The box is structurally sound, with no significant damage or repairs noted. See less
