Milo Baughman, DIA, American Mid-Century Modern, Curvilinear Étagère or Adjustable Shelving Unit, Polished Brass, Glass, USA, 1970s
A large étagère designed by Milo Baughman for DIA and produced in the United States circa 1970s. This example features an architectural composition of polished brass frames with rounded corners and sculptural, curvilinear detailing. The asymmetrical design incorporates multiple clear glass shelves arranged at varying heights, creating a striking interplay of geometric forms and open space. The combination of polished brass and transparent glass lends the piece a light, airy appearance while maintaining a bold sculptural presence.
