The tall, rounded vessel features a narrow neck with decorative banding and a beautifully aged cream-colored surface. Expressive dark brown hand-painted markings encircle the body, giving the jar a wonderfully graphic, folk-art quality. Areas of discoloration, surface wear, and glaze variation reflect generations of use and contribute to its authentic character.

Originally used for storing and transporting wine or other liquids, this jar makes a striking decorative object today. Its generous scale and bold painted decoration allow it to stand beautifully on its own or as part of a collection of antique Chinese pottery. Display it on a console, cabinet, pedestal, or tabletop to bring history, texture, and an earthy sculptural element to Santa Fe, wabi-sabi, boho chic, rustic, or contemporary interiors.
