Vintage Moroccan Moorish Clear Glass Filigree Pendant Lantern, 1980s
An elegant vintage Moroccan Moorish hanging lantern, handcrafted in Marrakech, Morocco, circa 1980. Distinguished by its elongated architectural silhouette, this impressive pendant light combines intricate hand-pierced metalwork with clear glass panels and a beautifully aged bronze-tone patina.
The lantern features graceful bulbous sections at the top and bottom, framing a slender central body decorated with delicate floral filigree, geometric openwork, and traditional Moorish horseshoe arches. These finely executed details reflect the artistry of Moroccan metalworkers and the architectural influences of Islamic and Andalusian design.
Clear glass panels reveal a central cluster of three candelabra-style lights. When illuminated, the pierced metalwork creates a beautiful interplay of light and shadow, emphasizing the lantern's sculptural form.
Rewired for electricity and fitted with a three-light cluster, the fixture comes with a hanging chain and ceiling canopy for hardwired installation.
