Bold yet delicate, this eccentric early 20th century antique Persian Mahal rug offers an opulent cornucopia of lively botanical motifs. With its time-softened colors and bold elemental nature, this majestic Persian Mahal rug embodies true rectilinear style. Inconspicuous waves of abrash sweep across the field, enhancing the depth to the elaborate design scheme. The meticulously sophisticated main border creates a liveliness with the weeping willow and cypress trees. The decorative guard bands gracefully reflect a traditional pattern of delicate Persian floral motifs and complement the majestic colors used within the medallion and main border. Distinguishing and cleverly composed, this antique Persian Mahal provides an artistic impact to complement modern, transitional and traditional interiors. Rendered in variegated shades of coral, salmon, terra cotta, navy blue, cerulean, dark blue, brick red, burnt orange, brown, taupe, tan, ecru and verdigris. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran. See less
