This 95-page book was written by Walter Hoving and published in 1961 by Ives Washburn, New York. This is a First Edition, third printing, in the original unclipped dust jacket.
"At Tiffany's, our interest in attractive tables set with good china, glass and silverware, makes us equally aware of the importance of good table manners." Hoving describes Tiffany's guide to table manners as "attractive, graceful, and above all, natural."
This book is in very good vintage condition - the text and iconic Eula illustrations are clean and bright. There's very light sunning on the page margins, and some minor foxing to the edges of the jacket - otherwise, as issued. It's often hard to find.
This is a scarce, appealing book for Tiffany collectors, as well as fans of the foremost fashion illustrator Joe Eula, Eula was a house artist for Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, and, later, creative director for Halston. He was also a multi-faceted artist, who won a Tony Award, designed a suit for his friend, Miles Davis, and concert posters for The Supremes and Liza Minnelli. His illustrations often graced "Vogue" and "Harper's Bazaar." He's truly a 20th Century fashion idol. See less
