Murano glass, ceiling mounted chandelier, attributed to Barovier and Toso.
This beautiful light fixture is shaped like a double oleander blossom. It is formed from 10 pieces of of glass—five large ribbed pieces with rounded points alternating with five narrow, ribbed pieces. They are secured to the armature by thumbscrews with reeded glass caps. A ridged bowl covers the bottom, and a large, ridged, clear crystal drop finishes the chandelier.
The interior surface of the petals and bowl are sand blasted. This gives them a sparkling sheen when lit and glittering, milky opacity when unlit. The frame is white enameled steel.
Wired for North America and takes 3 chandelier bulbs.
Labeled "Made in Italy" no maker's stamp or label found. Attributed to Barovier e Toso, Venice, Italy.
Measures 18" diameter, 6.5" depth (45.7 x 16.5 cm)
