Julie Dodson, creative director of award-winning Dodson Interiors, is a natural when it comes to interior design. She studied at ‘Ole Miss where she received her Bachelor of Interior Design. Her inherent skills of fashion and design were honed while working with some of Houston’s top design firms including that of her mother, the renowned Trisha Dodson.
Recognized for her fresh approach on classical style—a sophisticated and harmonious mix of Hollywood glam and refined transitional design—Julie has adopted the phrase “Casual Glamour” as her trademark. Her talents have not gone unnoticed. In 2010, she was one of Traditional Home Magazine’s “20 Young Designers to Watch” and in 2012 the Houston Design Center awarded her the title “Star on the Rise”. In addition, she has engaged in several television and podcast interviews and been featured in numerous magazine articles. most recently, she garnered the covers of Traditional Home and Luxe Interiors as well as being featured in Traditional Home, Luxe Interiors, Southern Home, Texas Interiors, and Houston Chronicle, among others. Whether it’s New York City, Atlanta, or her native Houston, Julie leaves an elegant and inspired design footprint.
Dodson Interiors has completed new construction and remodel projects as well as participated in the 2016 Traditional Home Hamptons Designer Showhouse, 2017 Traditional Home Dallas Decorators Showhouse, and Pink Ribbon Project which supports breast cancer research. Julie acknowledges that cancer has affected most of us in one way or another, and being a part of the Pink Ribbon Project is a way to help support further exploration for a cure. Julie is also the founder and presenter of the annual Designer Dream Spree™ that brings A-List designers and top tier media to Round Top, Texas. A huge supporter of animal rescue groups, Julie spends much of her free time helping homeless pets find forever families through her 501C3 Non-profit rescue organization, Dogs and Design.
